Political Crap from the White House
As usual, the White House (and Senate republicans) are so full of crap on its 9/11 Commission that they're now "allowing" a delay of "6 months" for the commission to release its report, which (oddly) would put the report out just after the election. Hmmm.
Originally, they were publicly saying "no" to having the report released past it's original May deadline. Now, they're hedging their bets to let it go until after the general election. At which point, they're (the republicans and the democrats that voted to give Bush authority) off the hook, so to speak.
And now something really stinks: Condoleeza Rice is scheduled to meet with the 9/11 Commision on Saturday, February 7th. Well, that's not what stinks. What stinks to Holy Hi-Hell is that the meeting will not be "sworn or made public".
Apparently, the American public is not entitled to understanding why their troops are dying in both Afghanistan and Iraq (get ready for troop deaths in Pakistan) to "fight terrorism", which was triggered by 9/11.
This kind of crap makes me sick. Bill Clinton's White House both made me sick and overjoyed. Why? Because, when they played politics, it wasn't over dead bodies. It was over a cheating husband and some rather uninteresting (and later, unimportant) real estate investments.
Bush's White House is scheduling an investigation of the largest terrorist attack in our nation's history, that resulted in thousands dead and injured, and resulted in two wars, around an election.
Around a damn election. When are politicians going to put our country first?
