What if the Dem's win - Environment

Democrats are likely to turn up the heat on lawmakers to address global warming if they win control of Congress in next Tuesday's elections. While current Senate Environment and Public Works Chairman Inhofe has criticized concerns about global warming as alarmist, the likely chairwoman in a Democratic chamber, Sen. Barbara Boxer of California, has supported tough mandatory curbs of industrial carbon dioxide emissions. As the new chairman of the panel's Clean Air Subcommittee, Sen. Thomas Carper, D-Del., would be in position to push for a less-stringent approach than Boxer's.
